It is with great sadness that we inform you that Marie Schaman, Dr. Schaman's mother, passed away October 14, 2017 at 91 years of age. She was predeceased by husband, Simon in 2012.
Dr. Schaman's mother was an integral part of his medical practice and the clinic. She and her husband Simon owned the clinic property until 2011 and were the care takers of not only the clinic, including all the groundskeeping, housekeeping and maintenance, but also of Dr. Schaman himself. Marie took great pride in ensuring that Dr. Schaman always had an impeccable, clean, pressed lab coat to wear at work, an extra challenge when you realize that the iron content of the well water on the property frequently left rust stains on anything it touched. The current dry cleaner has not managed to meet or surpass her efforts in this area. Her quiet background presence was a great support to Dr. Schaman and to the Clinic, as well as the Cardiac Fitness Association. Marie was also a passionate gardener, no flower or plant was immune to her green thumb and the clinic grounds were always a gorgeous explosion of colour due to her care.
Marie Schaman was born September 12, 1926 and passed, peacefully, with her children, John and Anne and son-in-law, Danny, at her side on October 14, 2017 at Innisfree House, Kitchener.
A private service will be held for the family. Your understanding of the families wish for privacy at this time is appreciated.
The family has requested that any memorial donations be directed to the CFA Walk of Life. We have set up an online donation page for this here.
We encourage you to attend both cardiac classes and H.E.L.P. classes as normal this coming week & continue to look after your health. Please remember there are no classes on Monday as the CFA Annual General Meeting & Dinner is being held that day. Dr. Schaman is planning to attend the AGM and classes as usual.
